The Ol Pejeta Conservancy in Kenya battles the dramatic increase of wildlife poaching with specially trained dogs, cutting-edge drones, and heavily armed response teams. The goal is to do whatever it takes to safeguard the reserve’s populations of elephants, lions, and rhinos, including some extraordinarily endangered northern white rhinos. Only seven of these massive creatures remain, and four of them live at Ol Pejeta, relocated from a zoo in the Czech Republic in 2009 in hopes that they’ll reproduce. In this short film, filmmaker Tom Aveling not only goes behind the scenes at the sanctuary to show how the teams' methods work but also captures stunning footage of the wildlife they’re fighting to save.
