Part 23 of my Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (Nintendo Switch) let's play - Antsies in My Pantsies!
In this episode, I spend even more time in World 6 Donkey Kong Island. I enter 6-5 Forest Folly to begin, which, as the name implies, is based off of Donkey Kong Country Returns’ World 5 the Forest. This stage is filled with Gigantic Snowflakes that hurt to touch. The main method of getting around is by pounding on rotating springs to reach grabable surfaces. After I finish that stage, I enter 6-6 Cliffside Slide. Cliffside Slide is the final silhouette level in the game, and it features beautiful snowy scenery. It’s main themes are the blizzard that causes it to look so opaque, and the avalanche that Donkey Kong must fight against to reach the peak of the mountain. It is one of my favorite levels on Donkey Kong Island.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze is a video game developed by Retro Studios, a subsidiary of Nintendo, for the Wii U and Nintendo Switch. It was released in 2014, and re released for the Switch in 2018. It is a sequel to Donkey Kong Country Returns, which originally released for the Wii in 2010. Tropical Freeze is a 2D platformer known for its beautiful backgrounds, well thought-out design, partner-based powerups, and phenomenal soundtrack composed by David Wise. It is, in my opinion, one of the best platformers ever made, and it is criminally underrated. That’s why I intend to show it off!
